Annually determined NTC value

The annual determination of the NTC (Net Transfer Capacity) values is based on the following assumptions:

  • All grid elements are in operation
  • The load flow is evenly spread over the operating resources

The annual NTC values are indicative only and may deviate from the corresponding D-2 NTC values.

No single Transmission System Operator can be held liable if the maximum values listed in the table cannot be provided in the auctions. Whereby

  • All values are indicated in MW.
  • Winter includes the following months: January, February, March, April, October, November and December. Possible exceptions are defined in the various «Auction Specifications». 
  • Summer includes the following months: May, June, July, August and September. Possible exceptions are defined in the various «Auction Specifications».

(*) Swiss-Italian border (in both directions)

  • Transmission system operators APG, ELES, HTSO, RTE, swissgrid and Terna have defined the indicative and non-binding NTC values (in MW) for the French-Italian border, Swiss-Italian border, Austrian-Italian border, Slovenian-Italian border and Greek-Italian border. This was done as part of the activities of the «Implementation Group» of ERGEG (European Regulators' Group for Electricity and Gas)«Region Central South».
  • The NTC values contain the NTC values for the «Merchant Lines»
  • Cagno-Mendrisio (380 kV)
  • Tirano-Campocologno (150 kV)
  • For which the following values were determined
  • Winter Peak 350 MW
  • Winter Off-Peak 350 MW
  • Summer Peak 300 MW
  • Summer Off-Peak 350 MW
  • Please note that the public holidays are public holidays in Italy
  • The values in the table above show maximum values which were agreed by the transmission system operators. These values must be regarded as indicative and non-binding.
