«TSO Security Cooperation» (TSC) is a cooperation initiative between eleven transmission system operators (TSOs). Since its inception, Swissgrid has been actively involved in working with its partners to ensure the energy supplies of 170 million Europeans and to further improve the security of the high-voltage grids in Central Europe. The initiative includes a standing security committee and uses a real-time information system («Real-time Awareness and Alarm System») and a joint IT platform which allows all participants equal access to data and security calculations. TSC allows network operators to better coordinate their work, which is particularly useful for integrating renewable energies and strengthening cross-border electricity trading, thus facilitating the development of a common European electricity market.
