The group of balance group managers (BGM) includes those responsible for one or more balance groups in Switzerland. A balance group is an energy account. All production and consumption sites are assigned to one of these balance groups. The balance group manager can conduct energy transactions with other balance group managers at home and abroad, accept energy from power plants or transfer energy to end consumers via this energy account.

There are about 90 balance group managers and around 130 active balance groups (Swiss and foreign companies) in Switzerland.

It is necessary to be registered in order to be able to manage a balance group in Switzerland.
