Swissgrid maintains a variety of relationships with power plants. Many participate in our AS tenders via operating partners or via their owners. Many power plants also actively participate in voltage support or are available for grid restoration in the event of a blackout. In order to do that, they must first complete an extensive prequalification process and pass various tests. In addition, power plants with an electrical output of at least 50 MW received invoices for residual AS costs in 2009 and 2010.
Of course Swissgrid also receives measured values and operating conditions sent from almost all large power plants.
