Background information on curtailment of long-term capacity on the FR-CH-border for BD 23.05.2025
| Due to ongoing maintenance works of the French-Swiss tieline 380 kV Bois Tollot-Romanel scheduled between 19.05.2025 07:00 and 23.05.2025 17:00 Swissgrid and RTE are experiencing a tense grid situation in that region. This is worsened by unexpectedly high cross-border flows directed from France to Switzerland. To keep the grid secure, Swissgrid had on short notice to cancel the maintenance of 220 kV Romanel-Vaux, which is part of the 380 kV Bois Tollot-Romanel maintenance project. To ensure the execution of the planned maintenance for the business day 23.05.2025, Swissgrid had to reduce the cross-border capacity in the direction FR->CH further to a value, which effectively impacted the allocated long-term rights. |
