Imbalance energy

Here are the prices for the imbalance energy in the Swissgrid control area. Swissgrid provides this information in Excel and XML format on a monthly basis.

Scarcity component

The scarcity component comes into play when the control area exceeds an imbalance of -1200 MW or falls below 1000 MW. For exceeding the threshold values, an additional 10 €/MWh will be added to the regularly calculated balancing energy price. If the balancing energy price is negative, the scarcity component also becomes negative.
