The Board of Directors has appointed Konrad Zöschg (44) as CIO and member of the Executive Board of Swissgrid. Konrad Zöschg has been Head of ICT and CIO of Flughafen Zürich AG since 2014. On 1 August 2021, he will succeed Rainer Mühlberger, who, as Senior Strategic Advisor at Swissgrid, will in future focus on strategic issues, in particular the development of the 2027 strategy.
For critical infrastructure such as Swissgrid, the secure and efficient operation of information and communication technologies (ICT) is of great importance. In his new role, Konrad Zöschg will head the Technology Business Unit and be responsible for developing and maintaining Swissgrid’s ICT strategy and ICT architecture. His responsibilities as CIO will also include cyber security and the company’s transformation projects.
Konrad Zöschg has held various management positions in IT at Flughafen Zürich AG since 2005 and has been CIO there since 2014. He thus brings valuable experience in a demanding environment and in the operation of critical infrastructure. In September 2020, he received the «Swiss CIO of the Year» award for successfully transforming a large and complex company operating in a multi-faceted ecosystem. Before joining Flughafen Zürich AG, he worked for Nexus Telecom.

Konrad Zöschg is a qualified telecom engineer (HTL) with a postgraduate degree in industrial engineering (FH). He lives in Zurich, is married and has two children.
